Business Days Calculator
Count working days between two dates, or add and subtract business days from a date, skipping weekends and your own list of holidays.
About this tool
Pick two dates to see the business days, calendar days, non-working days, and holidays between them, or switch modes to find the date that falls a given number of business days before or after a start date. It answers questions like "when is 10 working days from today?" and "how many working days are in this project?".
The work week is configurable, so it works for Sunday-to-Thursday weeks, six-day weeks, or part-time schedules, and you can paste a list of public holidays to skip. Calculations run in UTC, so daylight-saving changes never add or lose a day.
Common uses
- Work out a deadline that is a number of business days away, such as a notice period or payment terms
- Count working days in a project or sprint for capacity planning
- Calculate leave days between two dates, excluding weekends and public holidays
Frequently asked questions
Is the start date counted?
By default, no: from Monday to Friday of the same week is 4 business days, the same way "in 4 days" works. Tick "Count the end date too" to count both ends, which is what you want for leave periods (Monday to Friday is then 5 days).
Does it know public holidays?
Holidays differ by country, region, and company, so the calculator does not guess. Paste your holiday dates (one per line, YYYY-MM-DD) and they are skipped. A holiday that falls on a non-working day is not double-counted.
Can I use a Sunday-to-Thursday work week?
Yes. Toggle the working days to match your week; the calculation uses whichever days are selected.
Is my data uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript, so nothing you type is transmitted, logged, or stored anywhere. You can even use it offline once the page has loaded.
