Every size is produced with a center-crop "cover" technique — the same behavior as CSS object-fit: cover — so the image is scaled up just enough to fill the target dimensions exactly, then the overflow is trimmed evenly from the center. Frequently asked questions
Will my image get stretched or squashed to fit each size?
No. Each target size is filled using a center-crop, the same technique as CSS object-fit: cover — the image is scaled proportionally to fully cover the target box, and any overflow is cropped evenly from the edges. Proportions are always preserved.
What if my source image is smaller than a target size?
It will be upscaled to fit, which the tool handles without errors, but any upscaled image will look somewhat softer or blurrier than one generated from a larger original — start with the highest-resolution source you have for the sharpest results.
Should I choose JPEG or PNG?
JPEG produces smaller files and is the right choice for ordinary photos. PNG is lossless and supports transparency, so use it if your source image has a transparent background you want to keep — note that JPEG output always fills transparent areas with white.
Is my data uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript — nothing you type is transmitted, logged, or stored anywhere. You can even use it offline once the page has loaded.
